Is Applebee's lying to the public?

Applebee's restaurants and Weight Watchers are being sued because they mislead customers, claims a Washington D.C. law firm.

The Today show on NBC reports that, for example, the Cajun Lime Tilapia was advertised as having six grams of fat, but results from Analytical Labs of Boise Idaho showed twice that with 12 grams of fat. The Garlic Herb Chicken is supposed to also have six grams of fat, but the lab counted 18 fat grams.

Even though the in-question entrees are better for you than some of the other items on the menu, the alleged menu items are distorting what you think you are eating.

When restaurants deceive the customer, then the government must step in and prevent the fraud.

And by the way, Applebee's -- after 3 years -- finally stopped frying its food in trans fats. However, trans fats have NOT been removed from desserts or from any of its non-US operations.

In these economic times, Applebee's doesn't deserve your business. Look in your town for a family-run restaurant and visit it tonight.
